Alabama Form UC-CR4 - Quarterly Contribution and Wage Report

Relations (DIR), that they will no longer be accepting black and white copies
of Form UC-CR4 and the associated continuation sheet UC-CR4A. This form is
currently available to our Enhanced customers from their QuickBooks software.
We recommend that you print the form from QuickBooks for your records but use
one of the alternative filing methods suggested by Alabama DIR to submit your

which may include applicable penalties.

Alabama has indicated they will not process filings submitted on the black and white forms. If you have already filed on this form it will be returned. Alabama DIR recommends you resubmit your filing using one of the recommended methods discussed above.
Will I receive a letter from Alabama?
Alabama has informed us that they have sent letters to some customers who are using substitute forms. The notification is titled “Important Notification of Procedural Change.”
Click here to see a copy of the letter.
What are we doing to rectify the situation?
Due to the change in agency policy, there is no longer an opportunity for us to provide a substitute form for submission. We will be modifying the form to indicate that it is a copy for your records only and should not be filed.
What do I need to do to get the update?
To ensure you have the latest forms and tax rates, we recommend you keep the Automatic Update feature turned on. Automatic Updates tells QuickBooks to check for new payroll updates automatically. Automatic Update is turned on by default. If you turn this feature off, it is a good idea to turn it back on. To turn on Automatic Update for payroll:
- In QuickBooks 2008, 2007 and 2006: From the Help menu, select Update QuickBooks. In QuickBooks 2005: From the File menu, select Update QuickBooks.
- Click the Options tab.
- Select Yes to enable the Automatic Update option.
- In the Updates list, mark the following channels: Service Messages, Payroll, Federal Forms, Forms Engine, and State Forms.
Please Note: We also encourage you to mark the Maintenance Release channel.
Marking that channel will ensure you receive the latest software updates,
including any enhancements to the payroll features.
