Step 1
Be sure the version of QuickBooks used when you last opened your company file is installed on the computer you are using to reset the password.

Important: You must have .Net Framework 2.0 installed to run the Password Reset Tool.
Step 2
Select the QuickBooks version you last used to open your QuickBooks company file:
