Can't print on the Star TSP 100 receipt printer for Cash Register Plus

What's happening and why

Cash Register Plus won't print on the Star TSP 100 printer, even though you can print test pages on it from Windows.

The drivers and software for the Star printer were installed from the Star 100 CD that is included with the printer.  These drivers won't work with Cash Register Plus. Star printer, can't print, . You need to install the drivers that come with Cash Register Plus.

How to fix the problem

Follow the instructions for the operating system you're using.

Windows Vista

  1. Unplug the Star TSP 100 printer and close Cash Register Plus.
  2. Click the Windows Logo button, and click Control Panel.
  3. Unless already selected, click Classic View in the left side of the window.
  4. Double-click Programs and Features.
  5. Select TSP100 setup version 2.3.0 and click Uninstall / Change.
  6. When the software has been removed, close this window and insert your Cash Register Plus installation CD.
  7. If an installation process begins, cancel it.
  8. Right-click the Windows Start button and choose Explore.
  9. Navigate in the left window to the location: D:\issetupprerequisites\{BE9D4DF6-E40F-4861-AD7E-E9A55EDEE3D8} were D:\ is your CD-ROM. Star printer, can't print, . To navigate, click the plus sign (+) next to each folder listed.
  10. Double-click setup.exe or setup and follow the installation process using the default settings.
  11. Reconnect the Star printer and open Cash Register Plus.
  12. In Cash Register Plus, click the Admin tab and select Edit cash register settings > Hardware.
  13. Click the Reset button next to Receipt Printer.
Windows XP
  1. Unplug the Star TSP 100 printer and close Cash Register Plus.
  2. Click the Microsoft Windows Start button and select Run. Star printer, can't print, . Enter control in the Open field and click OK.
  3. Double-click Add or Remove Programs.
  4. Select TSP100 setup version 2.3.0 and click Remove.
  5. When the software has been removed, close this window and insert your Cash Register Plus installation CD.
  6. If an installation process begins, cancel it.
  7. Right-click the Windows Start button and select Explore.
  8. Navigate in the left window to the location: D:\issetupprerequisites\{BE9D4DF6-E40F-4861-AD7E-E9A55EDEE3D8} were D:\ is your CD-ROM. Star printer, can't print, . To navigate, click the plus sign (+) next to each folder listed.
