| Important: If you are installing from a CD,
place the CD in the computer and close any installation screens
that appear. - Open the Run window:
- Windows Vista:
- Click the Microsoft Windows Start button and
choose All Programs.
- In the list of programs, select
Accessories.
- Select Run.
- Windows XP: Click the Microsoft Windows Start
button and choose Run.
- In the Open field, enter the following:
- Installing from CD: D:\QBooks (replace D with
your CD drive letter, if necessary) and click
OK.
- Installing from download: %temp%\FSE\QBooks
and click OK.
- In the QBooks folder, double-click the
setup.ini file. display appear show button screen problem, . This opens the text file, which is
divided into four sections.
- In the [Startup] section of the
setup.ini file, find the lines labeled
QB_LICENSENUM and QB_PRODUCTNUM.
These are the license and product numbers.
- Write down the 15-digit license number and the 6-digit product

the QuickBooks.msi file.
- Follow the onscreen instructions and enter the license and
product numbers from step 5 when prompted.
