  1. Open the Run window:
    • Windows Vista:
      1. Click the Microsoft Windows Start button and choose All Programs.

      3. Select Run.
    • Windows XP: Click the Microsoft Windows Start button and choose Run.
  2. In the Open field, enter the following:
    • Installing from CD: D:\QBooks (replace D with your CD drive letter, if necessary) and click OK.
    • Installing from download: %temp%\FSE\QBooks and click OK.
  3. In the QBooks folder, double-click the setup.ini file. display appear show button screen problem, . This opens the text file, which is divided into four sections.
  4. In the [Startup] section of the setup.ini file, find the lines labeled QB_LICENSENUM and QB_PRODUCTNUM. These are the license and product numbers.
