Print out a listing of Point of Sale ports, files and their locations so it is available as you configure your firewall.
To configure Trend Micro PC-cillin for Point of Sale functions:
Note: If you have a different version of this firewall, your steps may vary to some degree.
- Click the Windows Start button and select All Programs > Trend Micro PC-cillin.
- In the left pane, select Network Security and select Personal Firewall.
- Select the connection you use (for example, direct connection) and click the Add button.
- On the Exceptions List tab, review the exceptions list.
- If any files are not listed, add the exceptions:
- Click Add.
- Enter a description for the first needed program. . The description may be the same as the program name.
- For the Target, select Specified Application and click Browse.
- Navigate to the correct folder for this application.
- Select the file noted in the list and click Open.
- Both Outgoing and Incoming need to be allowed for the action.
- Verify these additional settings:
- Protocol needs to match that in the files and ports listing noted above.
- IP Setting is All IP Addresses.
- Click OK.
- Repeat the necessary steps above to add the remaining listed applications requiring access through the firewall.
