Configuring Earthlink Firewall for Point of Sale (POS) functions

Internet security and personal firewall application settings can affect how Point of Sale accesses its company data file, licensing information, program updates, and the merchant account service. . Incorrect settings can result in errors.

Print out a listing of Point of Sale ports, files and their locations so it is available as you configure your firewall.

To configure the Earthlink Firewall for Point of Sale functions:

1. Double click on Earthlink Security.
2. Select Firewall.
3. Select Application and click Add.
4. Select the first Point of Sale related file and click Select.
5. Select Edit and then Allow Traffic.
6. Repeat these steps for the remaining related Point of Sale files.
