Why is this happening

QuickBooks has verified your payroll subscription and detected that
it is not compatible with your current QuickBooks installation.
This means that you cannot perform some payroll functions,
including getting the latest payroll updates.

Detailed Instructions
| To make your QuickBooks installation compatible with your
payroll subscription, follow these steps: - Select the Help menu and select Update
QuickBooks. . The Update QuickBooks window opens.
- Click the Update Now tab to view the list of updates
available for download.
- Be sure all updates listed are selected (to select an update,
click the checkbox next to it).
- Click Get Updates to start downloading.
- When the download is complete, close QuickBooks, and then open
it again.
- Get the latest payroll updates:
- Select the Employees menu and select Get Payroll
Updates.
Note: If you are using QuickBooks Simple
Start, in the Payroll Center, click Setup and
Maintain, and then click Get Payroll Updates.
- In the Get Payroll Updates window, click Download
entire payroll update, and then click Update. . The
download process may take a few minutes. . Wait for it to finish
before continuing.
- When the download process is complete, close QuickBooks, and
then open it again.
- You can now set up and use your new payroll service. . For
details about how to set up payroll, select the QuickBooks
Help menu and select QuickBooks Help, and
then search for payroll setup.
