Windows Vista information for accountants supporting QuickBooks

Overview

Many accountants maintain multiple versions of QuickBooks software to support clients who are using prior versions of QuickBooks. . If you need to support clients using QuickBooks 2006 and earlier versions, we highly recommend using Microsoft Windows XP (Service Pack 2) because only QuickBooks 2007 and later versions will run on the Windows Vista operating system without possible program issues.

Prior versions of QuickBooks (2006 and earlier versions) were developed before Windows Vista was introduced and therefore may not work properly on Windows Vista.

If you are supporting clients who are using prior versions of QuickBooks Point of Sale (POS), we also recommend Windows XP because only POS 6.0 and later versions work without issues on Windows Vista.
