Printed Form 940 and/or W-2 show last year's date
|
What is happening
| Why do the printed Form 940 and/or W-2 show last year's
date? |
|
|
Why is this happening
| The IRS has until December 31 of the current year to modify all
forms. . As a result, forms for the current year are not released to
the public until sometime in December. . If you view these forms
before the new year, the year may not be correct. |
|
|
How to fix the problem
| The correct year should appear on Form 940 and Form W-2 with the
first tax table of the new year (at the latest). |
|
|
Detailed Instructions
| After January 1, update your payroll to receive the most current
tax table. Note: For additional information about updating
your payroll tax table, from the QuickBooks Help
menu, choose QuickBooks Help. . Click
Index, type payroll, and then
select update. |
