Functions not working in QuickBooks 2004 with Internet Explorer 7.0

Overview

When using QuickBooks 2004 with Internet Explorer (IE) 7, you may encounter script errors or QuickBooks may close when using the following in QuickBooks:

  • Accessing help
  • Setting up a new payroll service
  • Using any of the navigators: Company, Customers, Vendors, Employees, Banking, Business Services, and Reports

Because of the large variety of computers and system configurations our customers have, there are many different possible experiences when using Internet Explorer 7 with QuickBooks 2004.

If you choose to do so, rolling back or reverting to IE 6 will resolve these issues.

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. Click the Windows Start button and then click Control Panel (if you use Windows classic view, click the Windows Start button, click Settings, and then click Control Panel).
  3. Double-click Add or Remove Programs.
  4. Scroll down to find Windows Internet Explorer 7.0, select it, and click Remove.
  5. Shut down your computer and then restart it.

Your system (and QuickBooks) will now use Internet Explorer 6.0.

For additional Internet Explorer support, check Microsoft's support site.

If this solution does not resolve the issue, you can read discussions and post messages and questions relating to your issue on the Intuit QuickBooks Community site. . You can also review other available QuickBooks support options for additional guidance.
