Find QuickBooks Simple Start, Basic, Pro, Premier, or Enterprise Solutions Product Version and Release Information:
We will show you how easy it is to determine your product version, QuickBooks year, and release (update during the year):
- Open QuickBooks.
- Your QuickBooks [company name] will appear in the title bar at the top of the screen as well as the QuickBooks version and year.
- Based on the product name (such as QuickBooks Pro or Premier), use the following instructions to identify the product version, edition, and release.
- Press the F2 key to open the Product Information window. If the window does not open, press and hold the CTRL+1 (#1 key under F1) keys on your keyboard to open the Product Information window. The version (such as QuickBooks Premier), the edition (such as Contractor), and the release appear on the Product line at the top of the window.
For example: QuickBooks: Premier Contractor Edition 2007 Release R1P.
R1P refers to the first release of QuickBooks Premier Contractor Edition 2007.
- Make a note of your version, edition (if applicable), and release to use in the next step.
Determine whether your release is the latest release available. If not, update your version as the initial start of your troubleshooting process. Compare your release found on the Product Information window in the earlier steps, to the Product update page. Please click on the Product Updates page and use the directions below.
- Look at the QuickBooks version and year displayed on the QuickBooks Product Updates page under the green bar. If your QuickBooks year is different, click the orange Select a Different Product button.
- Click Let me select my product and version from a list...
- Click your version (such as Pro or Premier).
- If Premier, click the edition (such as Contractor or Retail).
- Click your year (such as 2007) and click OK. Now you should see your version and edition displayed under the green bar. If not, start back at step 1 and work through the steps again.
- Locate the Release information section in the center area of your screen. You will see a list of What's new in release # (R#) links, (# sign is replaced with the release number). The most current release is displayed at the top of the list.
- Comparing this release with your release we noted earlier, will tell you whether your release is the most current release. If your release is not the most current we recommend you update your version to the most current release. Click on Manual Updates and scroll down the center of the window, for the free download and installation directions.
