The first time Point of Sale is started on the ServerWorkstation, the Setup Interview is automatically launched. The SetupInterview is the fastest way to set up basic Point of Sale options inone place, by following an easy-to-understand question and answer format.
You do not have to complete the interview at all onetime. You can return to the interview at anytime by selecting Setup Interview from the File menu tochange your selections, set up new hardware, or complete pages that youskipped earlier.
The Setup Interview allows you to:
Enter your company informationEnter the information you want printed on sales receipts, orders, andreports, and specify your business type, which Point of Sale will useto create a set of default merchandise departments to help you get started quickly.
Choosethe Point of Sale features you want to use De-selecting featuresremoves the corresponding icons, menu options, fields, and windows fromthe program, so they dont clutter your screen.
Set up sales taxesSpecify if you collect sales tax and, if so, enter your primary salestax rate and to whom the taxes are paid. You can set up more advancedsales tax options, such as different taxing instructions by merchandisetype, price, or location, or paying taxes to multiple agencies later incompany preferences.
Signup for a QuickBooks POS Merchant Service account To process creditcard and debit/ATM transactions from within Point of Sale.
Signup for a QuickBooks POS Gift Card account To sell and accept stored-valuegift cards within Point of Sale.
Connect to QuickBooks financialsoftware So you can update your Financial Software with your Pointof Sale data, without having to re-enter it manually.
