Remove or reinstall Google Desktop

If you decide you no longer want to use Search you can remove Google Desktop.

To do this task

  1. Click the Windows Start button.

  2. Click Settings and then click Control Panel.

  3. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.

  4. Select Google Desktop and then click Remove. Google Desktop, removing and reinstalling, Search, removing or reinstalling Google Desktop, .

  5. (Optional) If you're certain you won't want to use Google Desktop in the future, click the clear Keep index in case I want to install Google Desktop again later.

  6. Click Yes.

What if I want to reinstall Google Desktop later?

Once you remove Google Desktop, you'll no longer be able to use Search in QuickBooks. Google Desktop, removing and reinstalling, Search, removing or reinstalling Google Desktop, . If you don't want to use Search in QuickBooks but you want to use Google Desktop, please go to the Google Web site. Google Desktop, removing and reinstalling, Search, removing or reinstalling Google Desktop, . If you decide you want to use Search later, you can have QuickBooks install Google Desktop for you.

To do this task

  1. Go to the Edit menu and then click Search.

  2. Follow the onscreen prompts to install Google Desktop.
