Set up employees for direct deposit

Before you set up employees for direct deposit, you need to sign up for QuickBooks Standard or Enhanced Payroll or sign up for QuickBooks Assisted Payroll.

QuickBooks automatically creates a new payroll item for direct deposit, which appears in the Payroll Item list and the Employee Summary section of the Preview Paycheck window.

To do this task

1. Complete the Payroll Setup interview.

2. Go to the Employees menu and then click Employee Center.

3. Click the Employees tab and then double-click the employee you want to set up for direct deposit.

4. In the Edit Employee window, click the Change Tabs drop-down arrow and choose Payroll and Compensation Info.

5. Click the Direct Deposit button.

6. Click Use Direct Deposit for this employee.

7. Select whether to deposit the paycheck into one or two accounts.

8. Enter the employee's financial institution information.

9. 10. Click OK in the Direct Deposit and Edit Employee windows.
