[Contractor] Creating a group of items

Creating a group of items

If you use assemblies to make estimates, you can group the items in the assembly. Then you can refer to them as one unit. For example, you could make an "Exterior Wall" group by grouping the items for studs, drywall, siding, house wrap, insulation, and paint. Each item in the Exterior Wall group has its own cost and selling price. When you choose an item for your estimate or invoice, you simply have to enter a quantity to get the total price for the Exterior Wall.

For instructions on creating a group item, see grouping related items together.

After you've created a group item, you can edit it if you need to. Any item can be in more than one group. To edit a group item, select the item from the Item list and choose Edit from the pull-down Item menu. Make changes as necessary.
