When closing a company file or exiting QuickBooks, the Automatic Backup process begins but immediately fails with the following error:
Error: AutoBackupEXE MFC Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We're sorry for the inconvenience.
After installing a later version of QuickBooks, scheduled Backups in earlier versions of QuickBooks may cause this error.
Intuit recommends 2 solutions for this problem. The first solution may solve your problem, or you may need to try both to resolve the issue. For best results, perform the solutions in the order shown.
Choose whether to run an automatic or manual update.
IMPORTANT: Make sure your product is selected. If not, click "Choose a different product."
If you continue to get the error message after updating to the latest release, you may need to disable the Automatic Backup feature and make manual backups.
