Loan Manager is missing after upgrading QuickBooks

After you upgrade to a new verison of QuickBooks, you may notice the option for loan manager is missing.

What you can try now

Intuit recommends more than one solution for this problem. The first solution may solve your problem, or you may need to try all of them to resolve the issue. For best results, perform the solutions in the order shown.

Before following the steps below, try rebooting your computer as this may re-enable the option for loan manager.  If that fails to solve it, try one of the workarounds below.

Solution 1: Follow the steps in the Microsoft article Internet Explorer 9 fails to load VBD documents.

If the solution provided by Microsoft does not resolve the issue, try Solution 2.

Solution 2: Enable Compatibility Mode in Internet Explorer 9, 10  and 11.

  1. With Internet Explorer open, press the Alt key to show the menu bar.
  2. Choose Tools > Compatibility View Settings.
  3. Select Display all websites in Compatibility View, then click Close.

Note:  If the issue persists, you can try uninstalling Internet Explorer 9 or 10 and revert to IE 6, 7, or 8 to use Loan Manager or Cash Flow Projector.

Solution 3: Change Internet Explorer settings to their default

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Choose Tools > Internet Options.
  3. Click the Security tab.
  4. Record the existing levels, then select Default Level for Internet and Local Intranet Zones.
  5. Click the Advanced tab, select Restore Defaults, and then click OK.
  6. Open QuickBooks and run Loan Manager.
