Loan Manager or Cash Flow Projector is missing after upgrading QuickBooks Desktop

After you upgrade to a new verison of QuickBooks Desktop, you may notice the option for Loan Manager or Cash Flow Projector is missing or you may get the following error message:

QuickBooks updated this feature to work with your version of Internet Explorer. Please reboot your computer to use this feature. You can continue using other features of QuickBooks if you don't reboot.
What you can try now

Intuit recommends more than one solution for this problem. The first solution may solve your problem, or you may need to try all of them to resolve the issue. For best results, perform the solutions in the order shown.  

Before following the steps below, try rebooting your computer as this may re-enable the option for Loan Manager or Cash Flow Projector.  If that fails to solve it, try one of the workarounds below.          


Solution 1: Run Reboot.bat

Solution 2: Follow the steps in the Microsoft article Internet Explorer 9 fails to load VBD documents.

If the solution provided by Microsoft does not resolve the issue, try Solution 3.

Solution 3: Enable Compatibility Mode in Internet Explorer 9, 10  and 11.

  1. With Internet Explorer open, press the Alt key to show the menu bar.
  2. Choose Tools > Compatibility View Settings.
  3. Select Display all websites in Compatibility View, then click Close.
    Note:  If the issue persists, you can try uninstalling Internet Explorer 9 or 10 and revert to IE 6, 7, or 8 to use Loan Manager or Cash Flow Projector.

Solution 4: Change Internet Explorer settings to their default

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Choose Tools > Internet Options.
  3. Click the Security tab.
  4. Record the existing levels, then select Default Level for Internet and Local Intranet Zones.
  5. Click the Advanced tab, select Restore Defaults, and then click OK.
  6. Open QuickBooks Desktop and run Loan Manager or Cash Flow Projector.

We were unable to reproduce this issue while testing in multiple versions, releases, and enviroments. Please see the steps provided for resolution. If you continue to experience this issue, please consult with an IT professional.
