When you open QuickBooks 2008 or later, you may experience one of the following:
QuickBooks is configured to download minor updates automatically from the Intuit Server. We call these "background" updates. The June 21st update is causing this issue.
Until a full resolution is available (and will be automatically received by your product), follow the interim solution below.
Solution 1: Update QuickBooks

If you still do not have icons on your home page, try solution 2.
Solution 2: Download a file to automatically rename two QuickBooks program files
Estimated time: 1 minute
If you have trouble downloading or running the file, follow the steps in solution 3 to manually locate and rename the files.

Estimated time: 10 minutes
