When you try to email a report or transaction, you may see an error: QuickBooks is unable to send your email to Outlook. Close any open Outlook windows and try again.

Intuit recommends several solutions for this problem. The first solution may solve your problem, or you may need to try all of them to resolve the issue. For best results, perform the solutions in the order shown.
Important: Before trying any of these steps, first try making sure Outlook is closed. Once Outlook is closed, see you can email out of QuickBooks. If you can, then remember to open Outlook afterwords so you can send/recieve to send your email. This is a workaround if the ones below do not resolve the issue.
Note: If you use Microsoft Outlook with Microsoft Exchange Server, open Outlook and login before checking the QuickBooks preference.
Note: If you can email from Microsoft Word but you can't email from QuickBooks, contact QuickBooks Technical Support for assistance.

Note: New web mail options available in QuickBooks 2011 may provide a more reliable option than using Microsoft Outlook. You get copies of your sent emails just as you would from Outlook.
