Runtime errors -91 -2147418105 429 Active X component cannot create object ID = 1AD

You open QuickBooks and receive one or more of the following errors:

  • Runtime error -91
  • Runtime error -2147418105
  • Runtime error: 429 Active X component cannot create object
  • Runtime error ID = 1AD

 

Why this is happening

Runtime errors may be caused by a damaged installation of QuickBooks or Microsoft Office.

How to fix it

 

 

 

 

 

Intuit recommends 3 solutions for this problem. The first solution may solve your problem, or you may need to try all 3 to resolve the issue. For best results, perform the solutions in the order shown.

Solution 1: Re-register QuickBooks files in Windows

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. Open the folder containing the reboot.bat file:
    • Windows 7 and Vista: Right-click the QuickBooks icon on your desktop and select Open file location.
    • Window XP:
      1. Right-click the QuickBooks icon on your desktop and select Properties.
      2. Click Find Target.
  3. Double-click the reboot.bat file.
  4. Restart your computer, and then restart QuickBooks.

If you still encounter the error, go to solution 2.

Solution 2: Repair the QuickBooks installation

  1. Close any open programs.
  2. Repair QuickBooks.
  3. Open QuickBooks.

If you still encounter the error, go to solution 3.

Solution 3: Reinstall the QuickBooks installation

  1. Perform a clean uninstall of QuickBooks.
  2. Reinstall QuickBooks.
  3. Open QuickBooks.

If you still encounter the error, go to solution 4.
