Change the currency symbol used in QuickBooks Desktop

QuickBooks Desktop uses the currency symbol specified in your Windows Control Panel. To change the symbol, you must change the setting from the Control Panel.

Important
Regional Settings are supported when set to English (United States), including the keyboard setting. Editing these settings to non-English (US) language may affect areas of QuickBooks Desktop including Merchant Services, Multi Currency, Payroll and Transactions.

 
 

Windows 10, 8.1 and 8

  1. On your keyboard, press Windows and type in Region.
  2. Click Settings and choose Region.
  3. Under the Format tab, click the Format drop down arrow and select the language of the currency that you want to use.
  4. Click Additional Settings and under the Currency tab, select the appropriate symbol for your country or region.
  5. Click OK twice to save the changes.
  6. Open QuickBooks Desktop.

 

Windows 7 and Vista

  1. Click the Windows Start button and choose Control Panel.
  2. Under Clock, Language, and Region, select Change keyboards and other input methods.
  3. Under the Formats tab, select the language that corresponds to the currency that you want to use.
  4. Click Additional Settings.
  5. Under the Currency tab, select the appropriate symbol for your country or region.
  6. Click OK twice to save the changes.
  7. Open QuickBooks Desktop.
