Release 2.1 of QuickBooks Point of Sale 2.0
Intuit creates a maintenance release when improvements are made to the current version of QuickBooks Point of Sale or when problems with the software are discovered and fixed. We recommend that you install this release at your earliest convenience to take advantage of improvements included in the update.

QuickBooks provides different options for installing the new product releases.

To check the current release of your QuickBooks program:

With QuickBooks Point of Sale 2.0 open, from the Main menu, click Help, and then select About QuickBooks Point of Sale 2.0. The first line of the About window gives the QuickBooks Point of Sale 2.0 product followed by the release number. If the release says Release 2.1, then you already have the latest release.

To install the update from CD:

  1. Close QuickBooks Point of Sale 2.0 on all workstations. Close all running applications on the computer that is being updated.
  2. Insert the update CD and follow the on-screen prompts.

    Note: If you are using QuickBooks Point of Sale 2.0 in a multi-user environment, you will need to begin with Workstation 1 and repeat for additional workstations, installing on only one workstation at a time.

  3. Enter the same key code you used when first registering the product. This key code will appear on the screen when you install over an existing installation of QuickBooks Point of Sale.
  4. Restart your computer for the new installation to take effect.
