About exporting data to an Excel or CSV file

To do this task

  1. Open the Customer, Vendor, or Employee Center.

  2. Display the transactions you want to export.

QuickBooks will export the transactions that appear in the transaction list on the right side of the Center. For information about finding and displaying the transactions you want, refer to working with customer, vendor, or employee transactions.

  3. Do one of the following to display the Export window.

    • To export customer or vendor transactions: In the Customer or Vendor Center, click the Excel drop-down arrow and select Export Transactions. If the Transactions tab is currently displayed, click the Export button instead.

    • To export employee transactions: In the Employee Center, click the Excel drop-down arrow and select Export Transactions.

  4. In the Export window, choose whether to create a new worksheet, update an existing worksheet, or export to a comma separated values (.csv) file.

  5. Click the Export button.
