Backup history missing in restore functions after Online Backup errors occur

What is happening

The QuickBooks Online Backup program reported errors in the activity log, and now the recent backup history is not available to restore when trying to restore a recent backup.

Why is this happening

Occasionally the Online Backup servers are offline for maintenance and repair. . When this occurs, it is possible to receive an error message when you attempt a manual or scheduled online backup. . These errors include:

  • LA2222
  • RW112
  • RW56
  • RW64

In most cases, although the backup itself was successful, the backup history was not written to the restore logs on the client computer. . (Accessed by selecting the Restore button in the Online Backup application.)

Detailed Instructions

To restore the backup logs to the client computer, use the Online Backup Refresh utility to refresh the backup history:

  1. On the QuickBooks Online Backup: Support Tools page, click Start Download for the Online Backup Refresh Utility 2.0.
  2. When the "Do you want to run or save this file?" message appears, click Save.
  3. In the Save As window, click the Save in drop-down arrow, select Desktop. . Then click Save.
  4. In the Download Complete window, click Run.
