Error: "Client UI has encountered a problem and needs to close..." installing Online Backup software

What is happening

After downloading the QuickBooks Online Backup software using Mozilla Firefox®, the following error is displayed when trying to install the application:

Error: "Client UI has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

Why is this happening

The Online Backup installer is failing with an unrecoverable error. . It's possible that the download was corrupted during the download process.

Detailed Instructions

Download the software again using Microsoft Internet Explorer, and then install it on the client machine.

  1. Open Internet Explorer, and go to the QuickBooks Online Backup website.
  2. Click the Start Download button, and Save the file (Bkp1_Backup_fullintqkb.exe) to the Desktop.
  3. Once the download completes, double-click the file to begin the installation process.
