Setting up Scheduled Online Backups

Overview

The QuickBooks Online Backup application comes with a built-in Scheduling feature.  The Scheduler gives you the ability to choose what time your scheduled backups take place.

The scheduler backup start time is randomized for the time of installation and can be changed. . We  strongly encourage you to set up your scheduled times immediately following setup.

Note:

  •  Windows Power Management (system hibernates, system standby and turn off hard disks) settings can interfere with scheduled backups.

Setting up the Online Backup Schedule

  1. From the Microsoft Windows Start menu, select Programs > QuickBooks Online Backup > Online Backup
  2. Click the Scheduler button in the upper left corner.
  3. Select the Schedule tab, and place a checkmark next to each day you would like the scheduler to run.
  4. Enter the Start and End time in the appropriate fields, and then click Save.

Note: Make sure the Start and End time are sufficient to complete the backup process. . Setting a range of four hours is usually sufficient, depending on the size and number of files selected to back up.

Important: Your computer must be on and logged into the Windows profile that created the schedule if your PC has multiple computers. . Ensure to close all files you want to protect for automatic scheduled backups to occur. . The Online Backup will automatically connect and disconnect from the Internet.
