To resolve this issue:
- Select the File menu and select Open or Restore Company.
- Select Restore a backup copy and click Next.
- Select Online backup and click Next.
- Click the Restore option and click the Destination tab.
- Clear the Restore to the original destination option.
- Retry the restore with only one file selected. LA 2266 LA2266, . If this is successful, try restoring all files selected in the original attempt.
- If the error persists, restore each file one by one until you have identified the file that fails.
- Once you have identified the failing file, try restoring the previous backup of the affected file.
Note: This error can occur on Windows Vista machines if the user does not have sufficient access rights to restore the files to the original location. LA 2266 LA2266, . Retry the restore using the default option to restore to a new directory.
Windows Vista only: If the issue persists, create a new folder on the Desktop named Backup, and then toggle Windows User Account control:
- Click the Windows Logo button, and then click Control Panel.
- Unless already selected, click Classic View in the left side of the window.
- Double-click User Accounts then click Turn User Account Control on or off.
- Click Continue on the User Account Control window.
- Clear the Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer checkbox and click OK.
- Click Restart Now.
- Using web restore, select your backup file, and restore it to the newly created folder on the Desktop.
Important: Turn UAC back on when you're finished and the backup has been restored successfully.
