Error: LA2206 Unexpected end of file, or Error: Unable to create restore window. . EOF detected without trailer (2206)

What is happening
When attemping to restore your online backup, one of the following errors is returned:
  • Unable to create restore window. . EOF detected without trailer. . (2206) Please contact customer care
  • Error: LA2206 Unexpected end of file

Why is this happening

This error means that one of the configuration files that Online Backup uses is zero length, less than 16 bytes in length, or is corrupt. . It is related to the "2269: Invalid File Size" error.

How to fix the problem
Remove the file responsible for the error and download an updated replacement file. .

Detailed Instructions
  1. Click on the Start button and select Find or Search.
  2. Select For Files and Folders.
  3. At the following screen, enter *.@DB at the prompt for Named.
  4. At the Look In prompt, select Local Disk or C: and click Find or Search Now.

    Note: Search all hidden files and folders by selecting the checkbox in More Advanced Options.
  5. Delete each match found.
  6. Run a manual backup. . Online Backup will then connect to the server and retrieve an updated @DB file.
  7. Try to restore the online backup again, the issue should be resolved.
