Connectivity issues or errors can result when you install or run
the QuickBooks Online Backup application from behind a firewall
(possibly a work computer).

Detailed Instructions
|
If you are attempting to install or use the QuickBooks Online
Backup application from behind a software based firewall (for
example, Norton, McAfee, or Zone Alarm):
- If prompted by the firewall application to allow connectivity
for the QuickBooks Online Backup application, select
Permit, Grant, or
Allow.
- Manually configure the firewall application by reviewing the
appropriate sections of the manual or help files that were supplied
with the firewall program.
- Grant access to the program files
onlinebackup.exe and
onlinebackup.eng
- Ensure that TCP port number 16841 is open for outgoing
connections only.
