Importing an Excel or .csv file into QuickBooks
Before you import your file, you should prepare it for import into QuickBooks.
From the File menu, choose Import, then choose Excel Files.
At the Set up Import tab, choose the file you want to import.
If there are multiple sheets, select the sheet. If there's only one sheet, select "Sheet 1."
Specify whether the file you're importing has header rows.
- From the drop-down list, choose a mapping. You can choose an existing mapping or create a new mapping.
At the Preferences tab, set your preferences.
Click Preview to see how the data will be imported into QuickBooks, then click Import if it looks okay.
