Washington State form 5208 A/ B Quarterly Wage Detail Report Prints Incorrectly

When printing the second page of the Washington (WA) State form 5208 A/ B Quarterly Detail Report, the L-shaped anchor marks at the bottom of the page do not print completely or are shifted up.

Various printer models handle margins that are less than .5 inches differently. This causes the L-shaped anchor marks at the bottom of the form to shift, impacting the ability of the State to scan the form into their system properly.

Please note: The state of Washington will issue a warning letter and will reject form 5208 A/ B if it is submitted with L-shaped anchor marks that rise above .33 inches of the bottom margin.

How to fix it

Ensure you are using a Post Script driver.  Many printers default to a PCL driver.  Contact your printers manufacturer for assistance.

If you are using a Post Script driver and continue to have this issue:

  1. Refer to the printer user manual or contact the printer manufacturer to determine if the hard margins can be adjusted to work within the range of .25 to .33 inches.
  2. File form 5208 A/ B electronically using E-file with QuickBooks.
  3. Form 5208 A/ B Quarterly Wage Detail report can be filed directly by going to the WA Employment Security webpage.

If this solution does not resolve the issue, you can read discussions and post messages and questions relating to your issue on the Intuit QuickBooks Community site. You can also review other available QuickBooks support options for additional guidance.
