Error: Only QuickBooks can make deposits from Undeposited Funds, when trying to create a deposit
When trying to create a deposit, the following error occurs:
Only QuickBooks can make deposits from Undeposited Funds
Choose a different account in the From Account field. Undeposited Funds is strictly an internal account where QuickBooks holds funds until you are ready to deposit them.
Why this is happening
When creating the deposit, a line contains the account Undeposited Funds.
How to fix it
In order to use transactions from Undeposited Fund, you must use the Payments to Deposit window.
-
Remove the line(s) that use Undeposited Funds as the account
- Select a field in the row you want to remove.
- Go to the Edit menu and select Delete Line or use the keyboard shortcut Control + Delete.
- Repeat for each row you want to delete.
- At the top of the Deposit window, click on Payments.
- Click each transaction you want to add to the deposit then click OK.
