Error: 3022, When importing lists into the Pro Timer

When importing lists into the Pro Timer, an error occurs:

"Customer Name": Error 3022 - The changes you requested to the table were not successful because they would create duplicate values in the index, primary key or relationship. Change the data in the field or fields that contain duplicate data, remove the index, or redefine the index to permit duplicate entries and try again.


Why this is happening

The following may cause the error:

  • Importing over the network
  • Damaged list
  • Damaged Timer file


How to fix it

Re-sort the Names lists, export the timer list and save to a local drive. Then rebuild the timer file and import the list.

  1. Re-sort the Names List.
  2. Switch to Single-user Mode: Select File and select Switch to Single-user Mode.
  3. Export the Timer List.
Note: Be sure you save the Pro Time export file to the computer on which you are working.
  1. Open the Pro Timer.
  2. Rebuild the Timer data file before importing the list.
    1. Select from File from the QuickBooks Pro Timer menu and select Rebuild Timer File.
    2. Click Yes to the "Are you sure you want to continue?"
    3. Select the appropriate Timer File (*.TDB extension) and click Open.
    4. Click OK to close the QuickBooks Pro Timer dialog window.
  3. Import your QuickBooks lists:
    1. Select from File from the QuickBooks Pro Timer menu and select Import QuickBooks Lists.
    2. Select the appropriate Pro Timer  file that was saved to the local machine and click Open.
  4. If the file fails to import, create a new timer file and import the list
